Trolleybus
Trolleybuses allow fairly cheap to reach almost any area of Kyiv from morning till late evening. Low speed of this transport mode will enable its passengers to fully enjoy the views from the window. Trolleybus fleet has recently been renovated and this tendency is still going.
Trolleybuses run from 6.00 a.m. till 10.00 p.m. Precise time and frequency of the particular trolleybus are specified on the bus-stop information boards.

Tickets can be purchased straight from the driver or in the kiosks and should be punched after getting on the vehicle and kept throughout the journey.



Tram
Tramway system was launched in 1892 and was the first in the former Russian Empire and the third one in Europe after the Berlin Straßenbahn (tram) and the Budapest tramway.
In the past in was a dominant means of transport, but as time went on it became less popular and renovation of the rolling stock is performed on a rare occasions.

Fixed-route taxi “Marshrutka”
Fixed-route taxi “Marshrutka” is the dominant means of transportation in Kyiv. In fact, it is a minibus, which will quickly take you to any area of the city, due to its high frequency, compact size, and special skills of the driver.
Among English-speaking guests of Kyiv this transport means is known as “yellow marshrutka” owing to the bright colour of the vehicle.
This transport means runs from 6.00 a.m. till 11.00 p.m.
Single minibus fare: 5 UAH (the fare can vary depending on the minibus route). Minibus riders should pay the driver as they board.
The tickets are not used. The fact of payment is the ground for travel and is based on the trust.
Funicular
Kyiv funicular was opened in 1905 and serves Kyiv by connecting the historic upper town with the commercial district. Moreover, by taking this transport mode you will save your time and enjoy the picturesque views on the Dnipro River and the ancient city district – Podil.
Funicular operates from 7:00 a.m. till 10.00 p.m. during weekdays and from 8:00 a.m. till 11.00 p.m. at weekends and holidays. Funicular headway: 5 minutes

Light Rail Transit
Light Rail Transit allows to round the whole city very fast. The rolling stock consists of the train cars which have been operating for a long time. Even though a trip will be quite safe and amusing, it will not be so comfortable as one may expect.
This transport means runs from 6:30 a.m. till 09:00 p.m., headway 35 – 110 minutes.
