The Railway Station «Kiev Passazhierski»

has three terminals: The Central Terminal, the Southern Terminal and the Terminal for small distance travelling (Terminal "Prigorodni").

The Railway Station «Kiev Passazhierski» has three terminals: The Central Terminal, the Southern Terminal and the Terminal for small distance travelling (Terminal "Prigorodni"). The Railway Station had been constructed in 1870 and did undergo a reconstruction in 2001.

The railway station has a taxi service. Public transportation like busses, trolley coaches and trams are available. The Metro station "Woksalnaja" is located closed to the Railways Station.

 

Ticket Sales

Train tickets can be purchased at the cashpoints of all three terminals (phone +38044 503 7005). During the trip the online ticket and a passport / ID document have to be presented. Costs for travelling within the Ukraine are around 35 UAH for each 100 km (economy class).

Passengers can carry their bicycles for free, but regulations for ordinary luggage apply (size not larger than 200 cm for length, height, width, maximum of weight 36 kg). Beside this hand luggage can be carried.

Service Centre

Two 24 hours Service Centers are working at the Central and the Southern Terminals. The Railways Station is offering comfortable waiting rooms, TV, shower cabins, phone service, Wi-Fi, conference and banquet rooms. There are luggage porter and taxi services. The Hotel "Express" is located very closed to the Railways Station.

Railways Parcel Delivery Service

Within the Ukraine and CIC countries (Commonwealth of Independent States) the Ukrainian Railways offers a parcel service. The minimum weight of delivered goods is 10 kg. The parcel service is located at the Railways Station (Fedorova Str. 32, Kiev). Working hours are daily 08:00 - 20:00. The delivery service can be paid in cash or by credit card.

Kyiv Metro

Kyiv Metro connects the left and right bank of the city and carries out transportation of 50% passengers of the city passenger traffic.

 

 

Kyiv Metro is an indispensable mode of transport in the city. It is especially popular for its speed, regularity of trains and the uniqueness of each station. An interesting fact is that the deepest station in the world is laid here. “Arsenalna” is a belowground station (105, 5 meters) which was opened in 1960.

Kyiv Metro connects the left and right bank of the city and carries out transportation of 50% passengers of the city passenger traffic. It has 52 operating stations that have unique decorations, three lines and thus 3 transfer hubs.

 

Operating Hours and Metro Frequency

 

Kyiv Metro operates daily from 5.30 a.m. till midnight. During some holidays or huge events carried out in the city, metro can operate longer than usually depending on the event itself. Sometimes the frequency of the metro cars can reach 1 minute during peak hours and 10 minutes – during off hours.

 

Metro Fare

 

The ride is paid by tokens and contactless cards when entering the metro. A single ride costs 4 UAH regardless of destination and time spent in the metro. Tokens can be bought from cashier or automatic exchange machines at all stations.

Travel cards for unlimited rides for one or half of a month can be purchased from cashier at all stations.

Travel cards for limited rides can be purchased from cashier and recharged at the cash-desk or by using a terminal.

Cost of one-month travel card: 95 UAH
Cost of half-month travel card: 48 UAH
Travel card for limited rides: 7 UAH (only a plastic card).
